We’ve heard many times from our guests that they found us by accident! We are always happy that they did find us and we know they feel the same way because of the emails and letters we receive from all over the world. Oonlee Bungalows is a family run operation and we extend our family to all of our guests. Some of our friends have even returned to build their own little Koh Jum island escape. After doing a little informal research at the Manao Bar down on the beach,we realized how many different way the island name could be written in english. As it turns out, Ko Jam is a very popular way for people to spell it when looking for us online. Maybe we should change our name to Ko Jam Resort! 🙂
Because there is no exact way to transcribe Thai into English, the English spelling for most Thai vocabulary can take on many variations. To make it even more tricky, Koh Jum island is also called Koh Pu island, named after Pu mountain. Pu mountain is a terrific day hike adventure if you ever tire of relaxing in the sun. We can arrange a guide to take you on a mountain trek where you can discover the flora and fauna of our tropical island. Some guests have ventured out on their own for extra adventure, but you should take care as the trails get over grown quickly on this lightly developed island. Whether you call it Ko Jam, Koh Jum, or Ko Pu, you are more than welcome to experience Oonlee Bungalows charming resort with our family. You will not find any of the touristic experience found on other over developed islands in Thailand. You will find a terrific beach hide-away in the Andaman Sea to unplug from the busy world.
